You must plan your move

Your move requires that you move your both your valuable and items with sentimental value from one location to another. This is not just a move of superficial inanimate objects, these things have meaning to you and care should be as if it were you handling them yourself. But does that every really happen. Many moves are unorganized, unplanned, and just plain a mess. Boxes here, left items, moving of all kinds of undesirable items; creating back aches and can be a nightmare for all involved. Good news! It doesn’t have to be that way. You must plan your move, to protect your valuables of all kinds.

If this is not a do it yourself move, you will still be required to be a contributing factor in the moving process. At least a month in advance of the impeding move, you should begin to search for movers. Picking the right mover can also be a little tricky so buyer beware. There are many moving companies, many different pricings, and there are good ones and ones you should avoid like the plague. There are certified movers and movers that live around the corner from you who have there own truck but not their own insurances. So take your time and research your options carefully and look for companies that offer options that are customized to your move.

Packing done in an organized manner will save you time and energy when you begin to unpack. Proper packing will reduce the chances of arriving with damaged items and utilize the space in the moving truck to its maximum amounts. Make good use of packing materials. Moving boxes should be packed to capacity but not over packed to prevent breakage. Plates and glass ware can be bubble wrapped or wrapped in newspaper. Boxes should be clearly marked with either the contents or at the very least the room that it intends to be delivered to upon arrival. Separation of fragile items a providing plenty of cushioning around the boxes inside the moving truck is a good idea as well.

Don’t’ forget to send off all of the paperwork needed to inform people and businesses of your move. Use a pre-prepared checklist to make sure that you have handled all of the details of changing addresses, picking up medical records, bank statements, and school records. Because some people move all the time and others never move at all planning every detail of the move is essential. Check-list make the entire moving process smoother and more organized in feel and actually provides a template for how things should run. The tasks that need to be completed before the movers arrive can seem endless. Keep this list in one area and refer to it throughout the move and add notes as they come to mind. This list will be the most time saving tool that you have, allowing for efficient, timely, and structured moving.

The planning of the move does not have to be a difficult task. The move will take enough of your energy when packing. The most important thing is that you do plan for the best possible results.
